What Influences your values on life?

- Something that influences my values on life is my family because they are always making me stay strong to my values and keeping me on track in life. They are always helping me out of trouble and helping me through my life.

Do you ever compare images/values presented by the media to those of the bible? If so why? If not why not?

-No not really because i watch the news alot and i hardly ever go to church or read the bible so my life isnt revolved around the bible but rather revolved around the media and all of the current news.

Has this project challenged you to examine your values? Why / Why not

- Yes this Project has really challenged me alot because this project has really made me think about my values and my life and the way i see my life. Compared to other project were you just need to use photoshop and make a picture, this project has made me think alot by making a media watch episode and comparing information and critiquing  on the information found.

1. How Do You feel the media portrays social justice issues?

To tell the truth i dont even thing the media portrays social justice issue because not many people care about them because they rather here about other issue like Football Score or the latest news on Britney Spears. The media would rather put in more catchy news rather then  social justice issues.

2. Has it been difficult to find articles on social justice issues why/why not?

Yes it has been hard finding social justice issues because there is a lot of other news compared to social justice news. Just as i said in the question above.

3. Do you think that the media operates from a moral framework? Give evidence by using your research.

Yes i think the media operates from a moral frame work because it seems that all of the issues in the news or newspaper are about moral issues rather then social justice issues. When looking at the Daily Telegraph’s home page every picture and headline is not a social justice issue as they are either about the football or celebrities doing something wrong.

1. Open and read the “How to write a critique” document in the resources menu;

Describe what is a critique.

- A critique involves identifying critical things to say about an article and resisting the temptation to describe rather than analyze. Let’s look at the difference.

Description is just stating facts – though each person will have a different idea of what facts are the most important ones. Description is a lot easier than analysis, which is breaking things up into themes and putting them together.

2. Outline the FOUR stages in a critique

- An introduction (which directs the reader’s attention to the

Publication and your response to it)

- A summary of the article

- Your analysis or critical commentary on the original text

- Your evaluation or conclusion

3. Can a critique be positive? Discuss.

Yes a Critique can be positive, because when outlining all of the key facts about an article you don’t have to outline the negative facts by you can outline the positive facts. Normally the media will out line the negatives because to an audience it will sound more catchy the audience will watch, therefore the media will get more money.

4. Critique the accuracy of the following articles:

These people speaking are clearly stupid, they are being sarcastic and not meaning what they are saying. They are just making up crap.
